On July 5th, 2021, APUA inet introduced a service that is world-class, limitless and unmatched by any other provider on island; Fibre broadband.

Fibre broadband is the newest addition to APUA inet’s legacy of bringing many “firsts” to Antigua. APUA was the first to offer GSM handsets, the first to offer free incoming calls and the first to offer broadband internet via ADSL. Fibre optics is the very latest in broadband technology available anywhere in the world and APUA inet is the first to bring this superior service home.

The Fibre Broadband Launch ceremony chaired by Public Relations Coordinator, Sharifa George featured speeches by the Minister of Public Utilities the Hon. Sir Robin Yearwood; General Manager, Esworth Martin; Telecoms Business Unit Manager, Vaughn Brown and; Head of Sales, Cathrona Samuel introduced the new product to a captivated and social distanced audience comprising members of the APUA team, corporate partners, members of the media and inet brand ambassadors.

The launch culminated with a novel motorcade through the new areas with Fibre broadband availability, the capturing of the first home connection to the new fibre network, and the establishment of a satellite location at the Powell’s playing field.
